On Sep. 10 2019, NEWKOADWIND Co., Ltd.’s smart delivery box Dedibox was approved by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority as the country’s first-ever legally-approved delivery box.

Every delivery box utilized for quick delivery, delivery agency service, etc. in the country has been illegal under current law.

The act of mounting a delivery box on a motorcycle is prohibited under the current Automobile Management Act. Such a box is regarded a so-called illegal attachment. (However, in fact, practical enforcement against such boxes has not been made except when a rival company accuses or complaints.

 In that case, such an attachment becomes subject to punishment under the current law.)

It is also the violation of the Outdoor Advertisement Act to advertise a specific product, trademark, etc. on 3 sides of a delivery box using paper, print, sign, figure, letter, etc.

 Even the post delivery boxes on postmen’s motorcycles are on the boundary line between being legal and illegal under current law.
